Building a
Better Bonnell

Enter Bonnell One

Bonnell One will be THE system that drives everything we do. The Bonnell One development team is made up Bonnell employees from around the division, and from every department to ensure that all needs are considered. From ordering to invoicing to scheduling plant processes and optimizing machinery, Bonnell One can handle it. And, because of our investment in this update, Bonnell Aluminum will become easier to do business with allowing for future growth opportunities.

While management is busy readying all the pieces necessary to driving these changes, you need to know what to expect. While it will be some time before each facility sees any changes, our goal is to minimize disruption for everyone. But, when change does reach you, we promise that your work life will be affected in a positive manner.

By eliminating multiple systems, we will plan workflow better, making your job easier. While the effect of Bonnell One will be great for our customers, we believe that it will be even better for our employees.

Check back with this site often. We intend to inform everyone through regular updates and invite your questions and comments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some frequently asked questions that the team has assembled to help everyone understand what Bonnell One is, and what it will do for all of us

ERP, or Enterprise Resource Planning, is an application that automates business processes, and provides insights and internal controls, drawing on a central database that collects inputs from departments including accounting, manufacturing, supply chain management, sales, marketing, and human resources (HR). Simply put, an ERP system helps unify people, core business processes and technology.

A new ERP system will allow a common language for all present and future Bonnell Aluminum locations to communicate with one another. It also allows our customers to get quotes faster, see their orders in process and be invoiced from one common system. Even our vendors will see streamlined efficiencies.

MES, or Manufacturing Execution Systems, allow a business to reduce waste, decrease down time and plan manufacturing from raw material to finished product.

This will be the user interface for operations personnel

Currently, each plant processes production differently, often in more than one system. The MES launch will enable a predictable end-to-end control over all processes and eliminate spreadsheet tracking, making production more efficient.

Today’s software systems are cloud based, allowing access from anywhere. Information is always up to date since it is constantly receiving information.

To unify best practices, data, reporting and drive efficiency throughout all Bonnell Aluminum locations.

The future for manufacturing is changing and we need to invest in technology in order to compete. To be best in class, this investment is necessary. One system allows us to meet tomorrow’s challenges today.

The project will kick off with changes at the divisional office in HR and finance. That process is expected to last several months, followed by an announcement for plant rollouts. Not all plant implementations will happen at once.

Each location has a GPO (global process owner) who can act as a local resource for this project

  • Bob Gregory – Division
  • Andy Jingst – Carthage
  • Nancy Breyne – Newnan
  • Joanna Bell – Clearfield
  • Carl Holderbaum – Niles
  • Carl Holderbaum – Elkhart

There are no plans on making changes to our workforce as it equates to this launch. In fact, there may be new opportunities that current employees will be able to take advantage of.

Training will happen by job location and role. There will be plenty of notice before any training begins.

Yes – a 24/7 service desk will be rolled out later this year. It is also expected that leaders and supervisors take part in the training so that they can also assist their respective teams.

Our goal is to minimize disruption for all of our stakeholders. This includes our customers, vendors and most importantly, you our trusted employees.

Bonnell one will mean better communication for the plant floor. We won’t need separate systems to move product through the floor.
